Sault College of Applied Arts and Technology is a publicly funded college located in the heart of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. The college serves approximately 4,500 students, including a vibrant community of international students from over 35 countries, creating a truly multicultural learning environment.

A History Rooted in the Community

Sault College first opened its doors in the fall of 1965 as the Sault Ste. Marie Ontario Vocational Centre. It was part of a province-wide initiative to establish Colleges of Applied Arts and Technology across Ontario. Over the decades, the institution evolved from a vocational school into a comprehensive college offering post-secondary diplomas, degrees, apprenticeships, and continuing education programs. Today, with over 80 programs, Sault College continues to adapt to industry demands while staying deeply connected to its Northern Ontario roots.
